A signed-document-quality quote check. In minutes, not weeks.
Trueworks reviews every trade quote against your stamped drawings, the NZ Building Code, and current market rates. Builders save 20+ hours per project — and stop signing numbers they can't defend.
The hidden costs of standard procurement
01
$20k–$35k of your time per build
Typical NZ custom residential projects burn 210–400 hours of builder time getting drawings to a signed quote. Most of this effort isn't billable.
02
Findings caught on site, not on paper
Code non-compliance, mis-quoted scope, expired prices, and supply gaps show up during construction. Each one is a variation and a heavy hit to your margin.
03
Software that doesn't read code
Take-off tools give quantities, but they don't flag if a canopy pitch breaks E2/AS1 or if a purlin treatment voids a 30-year warranty. Trueworks does.
How Trueworks works
A signed-document-quality quote check in four clear steps. We take the analytical load so you can focus on building.
1. Send drawings + supplier quote
Secure intake via link or file upload. NDA available for sensitive project data before we begin.
2. We run the take-off
Quantities cross-checked against drawings, the supplier's quote, and current NZ market rates.
3. We deliver a packet
Risk register, per-trade quantities, and verbatim queries for your subcontractors in a brand-styled PDF.
4. You sign with confidence
Execute with certainty or push back with code-cited evidence. You stop signing numbers you can't defend.
4 trades · $700k–$912k of scope · 12 material findings
3-storey custom residential, Waiheke Island. Trueworks ran the pattern across structural steel, block retaining walls, roofing and timber framing — four drawing types, two design consultants.
🔴
Build-stopping defect caught on paper.
Entry canopy drawn at 2°/1:29 — below 3° minimum the specified roof sheet allows (E2/AS1 §8.4.4.1, MRM CoP). Caught at tender = $0 design conversation. Caught on site = 2–4 weeks delay.
🟠
$15–25k block scope ambiguity.
Foundation Plan said "all 20-series UNO" — every detail sheet called 25-series. Blocklayer pricing the wrong sheet under-quotes by 25%. Caught at tender = no variation.
🟠
$46k warranty exposure in a single treatment line.
Purlins under metal roof must be H1.2 only per MRM CoP §4.5. Carpenter's deck spec used H3.2 — substituted under the roof voids the 30-year manufacturer warranty on the entire roof.
The gap between headline numbers and Trueworks' all-in budget wasn't pricing error. It was procurement and scope risk — exactly what a Quote-Check is for.

( FOUNDER )
The product of 20 years on the analytical side of NZ construction.
Trueworks is built by Steve Parker — 20 years on the analytical side of NZ construction: variation work, contract advisory, programme review, and AI-augmented document workflows. Trueworks is the productisation of that practice for builders: same defensible analysis, at a price and pace a NZ builder can actually use. I answer every email personally during pilot phase. If you've got a quote you want a second opinion on, the easiest way to find out is to send it.
